8th year of specialized NTFP training: Les forestibles, the forest buffet!

For the 8th consecutive year, specialized training is offered for edible and transformable forest products enthusiasts and professionals.

The course is designed to develop skills in identifying and harvesting non-timber forest products (NTFPs) in a commercial context.

MODULES AND TOPICS COVERED

Module 1 - Part 1
Date: end of July to end of September 2019
Themes: Permaculture and forest garden 1 / NTFPs with commercial potential 1 / Summer mycology / Trees and shrubs of Quebec / Inventory techniques

Module 1 - Part 2
Date: mid-October to end-November 2019
Subjects: Handicrafts: Basketry and the use of vegetable oils / Autumn mycology / Introduction to the plant world / Introduction to Nordic nuts

Module 2 - Part 1
Date: early February to mid-March 2020
Subjects: Hygiene and health for farm managers / From forest to plate

Module 2 - Part 2
Date: late April to mid-June 2020
Subjects: Advanced mycology and spring mycology / Medicinal plants: Harvesting and cultivation, properties, use and conservation
transformation / Lanaudière forest ecosystems / NTFPs with commercial potential 2 / Permaculture and forest garden 2
