An economic partnership promoting entrepreneurship in Lanaudière has been formalized with the main socio-economic players in Lanaudière Nord. This partnership links the four Centres locaux de développement (CLDs), the three Sociétés d'aide au développement des collectivités (SADCs), the Coopérative de développement régional de Lanaudière (CDR) and the Carrefour jeunesse-emploi de D'Autray-Joliette, and aims, through the implementation of a referral, promotion and follow-up system for promoters, to increase the number of registrations for the Lancement d'une entreprise training program, which leads to an Attestation de spécialisation professionnelle (ASP).
According to Mr. Michel Forget, vice-president of the Commission scolaire des Samares, "This agreement with our socio-economic partners is unique to Lanaudière and is an essential lever in meeting the colossal challenge of entrepreneurship today and tomorrow. We must all work together towards the same goal, so that support for anyone wishing to start their own business is simple and effective".
This training program, offered by the Centre multiservice des Samares through its Service aux entreprises et à la communauté, is recognized by the Ministère de l'Éducation du Loisir et du Sport (MELS) and is aimed at people wishing to create, purchase or ensure the continuity of a business, or simply become self-employed. It enables future entrepreneurs to obtain the help they need in drawing up their business plan, as well as acquiring the effective management skills they need to make their dreams a reality or pursue them. In order to adapt to the realities of future entrepreneurs, the Centre multiservice des Samares offers participants the opportunity to complete their project in just 12 weeks, while benefiting from the professional support of a team of highly qualified advisors. Since the training is offered on a part-time, day and evening basis in Joliette, it will enable participants to reconcile their studies with their professional activities. What's more, each partner organization attracts a project manager to support referred individuals in their professional project, in order to offer added value and maximize the success of students enrolled in the Lancement d'une entreprise training program.
Louis Ross, President of the CLD Joliette, said on behalf of the four local development centers involved, "For the CLDs, this partnership represents an additional tool on the territory! Our aim is to contribute to the development of entrepreneurship. In addition to our expertise in consulting support and our knowledge of the field, achieving this goal requires adequate training for our future entrepreneurs. Although they're all passionate about what they do, many lack the management or marketing skills they need to make their projects a reality. Our partnership will help them develop these skills and knowledge, while continuing to benefit from on-the-ground support!"
Please note that no specific prerequisites are required for admission to this training program, other than providing an original large-format birth certificate and a high school transcript, and paying the cost of 135 $ to undertake the training at the time of registration.
Pierre Marois, President of the SADC de D'Autray-Joliette and representative of the Lanaudière Community Futures Development Corporations (SADCs) points out, "The SADCs have been involved for many years in helping entrepreneurs adopt best practices and put forward innovative initiatives for the region. This partnership is in line with our primary mission, which is to create and maintain jobs. It will enable us to put in place all the winning conditions so that future entrepreneurs can get their business off to a good start, and quickly get to know the players in the community who can support them."
