The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie is proud to support Mr. Benjamin Cardinal in the growth of Buanderie St-Michel, a rapidly expanding business located in Saint-Michel-des-Saints, in the northern Lanaudière region. Thanks to the financial support received via the Stratégie jeunesse program and SADC's Fonds d'investissement, the young entrepreneur will be able to greatly expand his service offering through the purchase of additional equipment.
In August 2021, the young entrepreneur from Rodrigues, a native of Saint-Michel, will acquire the St-Miche laundryl. The laundry, which has been in operation since 1973, offers a self-service laundry service to residents of the municipalities of Saint-Michel-des-Saints, Saint-Zénon and Manawan, as well as to vacationers and cottagers in the surrounding area. The company also offers a hotel laundry service, which involves cleaning and laundering bedding and work equipment.
At just 24 years of age, Benjamin Cardinal made a number of changes within the company, implementing improvements that would make all the difference. These included the introduction of self-service and extended opening hours from 5am to 10pm. He also introduced a delivery service and installed equipment on the company's premises, such as a snack vending machine and a coin dispenser. In the commercial and hotel sectors, Benjamin Cardinal rolled out the bedding rental service, and purchased two 80-pound commercial dryers - 3 times the size of the existing ones - and a 60-pound commercial washer.
The man who used to be a blaster and loader operator on drilling panels in Fermont has many strings to his bow, and is much appreciated by companies in the sector. Thanks to the quality of its washes, the speed of its delivery service and the critical shortage of manpower in its establishments, the St-Michel laundry radiates and becomes indispensable.
The promoter has recently expanded his range of services to include Sainte-Émélie-de-l'Énergie, Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez and Saint-Côme, since last autumn. What's more, there are plenty of opportunities open to him, and everything points to Benjamin Cardinal having the wind in his sails for years to come.
