The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie is proud to support Mr. Jean-Jacques Clément in his acquisition of Marché Chertsey. Thanks to the financial support received via the Fonds d'investissement de la SADC Matawinie, the buyer is now in a position to ensure the continuity of this pretty little local grocery store, so much appreciated by the residents.

Marché Chertsey is a convenience store located in the heart of the village of Chertsey, in the Lanaudière region. The retail business offers a wide variety of everyday goods, from basic everyday items to gourmet products.
Mr. Jean-Jacques Clément has been the owner since January 2024. Mr. Clément, who has lived in the municipality for 22 years, proudly takes over from Mr. Martin Dupuis, who has held the torch since 2000. Mr. Clément is enthusiastic about the idea of keeping the Marché Chertsey alive, as it contributes to village identity and heritage preservation, attracting not only local customers on a daily basis, but also tourists curious to discover the village.
Mr. Clément has recently added a new section focusing on pet supplies, as well as food for dogs and cats, and farm animals such as chickens, ducks, rabbits, goats, pigs and more. What's more, it's now possible to buy accessories of all kinds, including feeders, cages, waterers and much more. Another great new feature is the addition of a division dedicated to products from local artisans. To date, it's possible to purchase products from a dozen artisans who exhibit in the store. These are great new features for our customers, who can now make their everyday purchases more locally and with less travel time.

Jean-Jacques Clément holds a vocational diploma (DEP) in interior systems installation, and has over 25 years' experience in the field. The expression "Taking a 180-degree turn takes on its full meaning in this context. This is a completely new turning point for Mr. Clément, who is jumping into the world of entrepreneurship with both feet. He can also count on the help of his wife, Josiane Beaudoin, to support him through this new entrepreneurial adventure. With her wealth of experience, she will be involved in the company's administration and marketing on a part-time basis. " We run this wonderful business as a family, with my wife and two children who are also fully committed to this wonderful project. What's more, the addition of the new pet division is much appreciated by our customers, who no longer have to travel many kilometers for supplies. "
SADC Matawinie is proud to have supported Mr. Clément in the acquisition and transfer of the company, providing guidance and financial support through its Investment Fund.
