Geneviève Cloutier and Geneviève Mercier, co-owners of Café Ohana

Over the course of 2014, Saint-Donat distinguished itself in terms of economic dynamism, among other things, by the creation and expansion of a good number of businesses. Godon body shop and Café Ohana are two examples of the entrepreneurial dynamism of the next generation. The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie, is proud to have accompanied them in their business projects, and of the financial support of 40,000 $ granted through its Stratégie jeunesse program.

Café Ohana inc. now firmly established on Saint-Donat's main street
Geneviève Cloutier and Geneviève Mercier, co-owners of Café Ohana, are now well known to the citizens of Saint-Donat. The café, located at 361 Main Street, specializes in espresso coffee and all its variations. It's a place now renowned for its quality coffee, warm service and fresh, tasty menu. The bistro, established in 2013, offers lunch and dinner, and has quickly made its mark on the landscape of the splendid Main Street.

The promoters are multiplying their involvement in the Saint-Donat community, which is reflected in the villagers' attachment to the business. Over the past year, "Café Ohana" has helped to raise the profile of Saint-Donat through several articles in various newspapers, as well as by winning the "women's entrepreneurship" prize at the regional Québec entrepreneurship contest.

The two young businesswomen wish to pursue this wonderful adventure, and the financial support granted by SADC Matawinie will enable them to support the development of their business. Visit them at www.cafeohana.ca or on Facebook
