Lanaudière families will benefit from improved recreational spaces and modern community facilities, thanks to an investment of more than 3.2 M$ by the Government of Canada. This investment will generate more than 7 M$ in related investments from other partners, such as non-profit organizations and municipalities.
These contributions were announced today by David Lametti, Member of Parliament for LaSalle - Émard - Verdun and Parliamentary Secretary to the Honourable Navdeep Bains, Minister of Innovation, Science and Economic Development and Minister responsible for Canada Economic Development for Quebec Regions.
Funding for Lanaudière communities will support 17 different projects, from bike paths and hiking trails to community centers, swimming pools and arenas.
This investment was made as part of the Canada 150 Community Infrastructure Program300 M$ fund set up to celebrate 150th anniversarye Canada's birthday by investing in the community spaces that bring Canadians together. Of this amount, up to 63.5 M$ will be invested in Quebec.
