A Rawdon company in full expansion

LA SUCRERIE M&M S.E.N.C.

The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie is is proud to once again support Mr. Maxime Chevrette Breault and Mrs. Mylène Lafond in the development of their business, Sucrerie M&M S.E.N.C. Thanks to the financial support received through the Stratégie jeunesse program and the Fonds d'investissement de la SADC Matawinie, the company has been able to purchase additional equipment needed to increase the yield of their maple grove and the number of taps on their land.

Mr. Maxime Chevrette Breault and Mrs. Mylène Lafond

Sucrerie M&M SENC was born in December 2018, in Rawdon. Wishing to revive the family sugar factory located on the edge of their farmland, the two entrepreneurs' shared passion for maple syrup production developed very quickly. Two years ago, they put the sugar shack back on its feet, maintained the maple grove and started small-scale family production.

Last spring, their investments with SADC Matawinie enabled them to end the sugaring season with 1,000 taps. This year, knowing that the sugar mill has a potential of 5,000 to 6,000 taps, the two entrepreneurs wanted to expand their venture even further. With the support and financial backing of the SADC for a second time, they were able to meet the growing demand by increasing the number of taps from 1,000 to 2,500 this spring.

Sucrerie M&M SENC recently kicked off its sugar season with a bang, and it's now possible to order their products via their Facebook page. The popularity of their maple syrup is growing, and all by-products are selling out in no time.

SADC Matawinie is proud to have supported Mr. Chevrette Breault and Mrs. Lafond in the development of their business through coaching and financial support via its Youth Strategy program and its Investment Fund.
