The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie is proud to announce the creation of a new company, Sucrerie M&M S.E.N.C.. Thanks to the financial support received through SADC Matawinie's Stratégie jeunesse program, a new company will see the light of day in Rawdon, Lanaudière.
Mr. Maxime Chevrette Breault is a dairy producer and co-owner of the Desbro farm, a family business located in Rawdon. He is responsible for the full management of the farm, both operationally and financially.
With his father and grandfather having long harvested maple syrup on the family farm, Maxime Chevrette Breault relaunched the sugarhouse on the edge of his farmland two years ago. His passion for maple syrup production was then fully developed, and he refurbished the sugarhouse, carried out maintenance on the maple grove and started production.
Having started with 400 taps, his investment with SADC Matawinie enabled him to harvest his very first crop with 900 taps. The product sold very quickly, given the reputation of the syrup already established by his family. The type of maple, combined with its location and boiling techniques, gave it a unique taste. Demand for the product was immediate, and all his products were sold out. Mr. Chevrette Breault would like to expand further and start his own sugar factory with his wife, Ms. Mylène Lafond, an accountant by profession.
SADC Matawinie is proud to have supported Mr Chevrette Breault in the development of their new business. The coaching and financing offered through the Stratégie jeunesse program enabled them to bring their business project to fruition.
SADC Matawinie is a non-profit socio-economic development organization that has been contributing to the vitality of its community for 25 years. True to its mandate, it offers flexible financial products to start-up, growth and succession businesses. SADC's Stratégie jeunesse program encourages the acquisition, start-up, expansion or modernization of a business by young entrepreneurs aged 18 to 35. The maximum contribution is 25,000 $.
