The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie is proud to support Mr. Patrick Froment and Mrs. Amélie Chaput in the acquisition of their new home. Pavillon St-Cômelocated in Saint-Côme. Thanks to the financial support received via the Fonds d'investissement de la SADC Matawinie, the buyers are now in a position to ensure the continuity of the organization, which acts as an intermediate mental health resource in the region.

Pavillon St-Côme is a residential center for adults with intellectual disabilities that has been in operation since 1970. Located in the municipality of Saint-Côme, this pavilion is an intermediate resource attached to the Centre intégré de santé et des services sociaux (CISSS) du Nord de Lanaudière, now accredited for 10 years, until December 2033. It accommodates users with disabilities and mental health problems, who are already registered in an institution.

Comprising 14 rooms, the Pavillon St-Côme offers support and assistance services tailored to the individual's specific needs. Located on Main Street and bordering the Rivière l'Assomption, residents have access, within walking distance, to all the services available in the village: caisse populaire, grocery store, pharmacy, convenience store, restaurants and more. Residents also have the opportunity to take part in a variety of daily activities, such as bowling, bingo, going to shows, joining the walking club or taking part in village folklore activities, depending on their interests.

A well-deserved retirement

It's impossible to overlook the 37 years of loyal service provided by Mr Yves Larochelle and Mrs Sylvie Baillargeon to the Pavillon St-Côme. Over the years, they have built up a fine reputation among their customers with mental health problems. A well-deserved retirement and/or the passing of the torch will be smooth and peaceful.

New buyers

Amélie Chaput and Patrick Froment both have over ten years' experience as managers of intermediate resources in the Lanaudière region. The couple also own a second family-type resource (RTF), located in Joliette. This resource houses 9 users who also have mental health problems. They therefore have all the local knowledge required for the smooth running of the establishment and are well versed in procedures, as well as having the well-being of their residents at heart.

What's more, Ms. Chaput and her two daughters already work there, having been employed by Pavillon St-Côme for several years already. Knowing the inner workings of the organization and already having a sense of belonging to it is an important asset in the succession of the organization's activities.

SADC Matawinie is proud to have supported Mr. Froment and Ms. Chaput in the acquisition and transfer of the business, providing guidance and financial support through its Investment Fund.

SADC Matawinie is a non-profit socio-economic development organization that has been contributing to the vitality of its community for over 30 years. True to its mandate, it offers flexible financial products to start-up, growth and succession businesses.
