La Matawinie is proud to unveil its local winners of the 24e edition of the OSEtreprendre Challenge. As in previous years, we would like to highlight the new entrepreneurial projects that have distinguished themselves in our region in the Business start-ups.
In addition, several applications were submitted this year to the Doing business togetherThis year's Défi OSEntreprendre is dedicated to highlighting companies that stand out for their sourcing practices from Quebec suppliers. By deploying the Défi OSEntreprendre, in Matawinie, we hope to highlight inspiring projects from passionate entrepreneurs ready to take up the entrepreneurial challenge. And we invite you to discover them over the coming year!
Local winners in the Business creationwhich aims to showcase new business projects and highlight the boldness of their owners are :

Ascension sports (Saint-Côme)
Owners: Mariève Paradis and Julien Spick

Ascension Sports is a local shop offering mountain bike and fat bike rentals, repairs and maintenance, just a few minutes from the Parc Louis-Philippe-De Grandpré trails in Saint-Côme, Lanaudière. The boutique also offers accessories and articles for skiing, hiking and biking. Their mission: to provide a memorable, hassle-free four-season outdoor experience.

SLM Distribution (Saint-Alphonse-Rodriguez)
Owners: Frédérik Lafond Lejeune and Gabriel Landry

SLM distribution was born out of a desire to make a difference in the food sector for restaurateurs, distributors and consumers alike. They offer their customers a range of spices packaged in biodegradable capsules and a compostable container that replaces the small bags or other paper and plastic products used in restaurants and at home. They also aim to provide a local experience while respecting the environment for generations.

"Tricoté Serré: Individual and family support" was created in response to a crying need! A need for professional help that is affordable, accessible and, above all, fast! Tricoté Serré meets these needs through face-to-face meetings or teleconferences with experienced social work technicians, at an affordable cost of 50$ for one hour, with no selection criteria, and within a possible 24 hours!

Relais Mieux-Être (Rawdon)

Starting out as a center for treatments such as massage therapy, podiatry and osteopathy, Relais Mieux-Être has transformed and expanded its product and service offering to meet the needs of its community. Under one roof, the company now offers a treatment center, a boutique selling bulk and natural products, as well as a gourmet bistro offering fine coffee, catering services and personalized lunch boxes. All with a zero-waste philosophy. From the choice of suppliers to the selection of products, nothing is left to chance, and every decision is taken with a view to safeguarding the environment and a sustainable economy.
The Jury Committee was also keen to highlight a company that also stood out for its sourcing practices from Quebec suppliers, by awarding them a Special mention from the local jury.
The Imperfect Ecolos (Saint-Donat)

An eco-responsible grocery store located in the heart of the Village of Saint-Donat, Les Écolos imparfaites has been offering bulk food, bulk body and household products and local crafts since May 2021. They want their know-how to help ease their community's transition to more eco-responsible consumption. The company aims to give a collective dimension to the individual zero-waste movement by encouraging local purchases and partnerships with various village businesses. All in a friendly, convivial atmosphere. As their name suggests, Les Écolos imparfaites invite people to change their consumption habits in a non-judgmental and accepting way, one ecological gesture at a time.
The Société d'aide au développement de la collectivité (SADC) Matawinie, local partner of the Défi OSEntreprendre, would like to acknowledge the considerable contribution of all those who applied to the Défi OSEntreprendre. You've taken the plunge and made your projects a reality. You've made a major contribution to the economic vitality of the Matawinie region, and we're proud of it. Keep thinking big! We'd also like to thank our local partners who contributed to the success of this year's event: the Service de développement local et régional (SDLR) de la MRC Matawinie, Services Québec Rawdon et Saint-Jean-de-Matha and Carrefour jeunesse-emploi Matawinie.
About the OSEntreprendre Challenge
The Défi OSEntreprendre is a major Quebec movement that showcases thousands of entrepreneurial initiatives by young people from primary school to university every year, with its School sectionnew entrepreneurs with its Business creationinspiring entrepreneurs with its volet Réussite inc. and supply models from here with its Doing business together. It takes root at local, regional and national levels. To implement the program, more than 300 managers are mobilizing in the 17 regions of Quebec to highlight projects originating in their communities.

This year's Regional Gala will be held on April 26 next at Pierre-de-Lestage high school in Berthierville. This will be an opportunity to reward the winners of the Challenge, and to share in the excitement and emotion of all these new entrepreneurs who will have the joy of seeing their project rewarded, and who will celebrate the accomplishment of their efforts.
